If you’re coming to Sedona in April, you’re in luck. Or you’ve chosen smart because this is one of the best times of the year to visit Sedona. The weather is beautiful, the trails are waiting for you and the scenarios are unforgettable.
Heather and I would love to give you some ideas on what to do and where to go to have fantastic time while in Sedona, but if you want to plan ahead, here is what’s happening in Sedona in April.
April 29 – May 1:
SEDONA OPEN STUDIOS TOUR – Takes place the 4th weekend in April every year and runs from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day. This is an opportunity to visit artists in their own work environments and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process. The event is free. Keep Sedona Beautiful Presents 37th Annual Native Plant Workshop – The workshop is Saturday, April 2, from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm, at West Sedona School, 570 Posse Ground Road. There will be 2 keynote speakers, six workshops, and lunch provided. Advance tickets
are $25 for KSB members and $35 for the general public. Additional $10 at the door. Phone: 928-282-4938
The USC International Piano Trio – Chamber Music Sedona and the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music present the International Piano Trio performing music by Arensky, Faure, Haydn and Paul Schoenfield for the season finale.
April 7:
Reiki Master/Teacher Class – Reiki Master/Teacher class is a comprehensive instruction in technique, guided practice, and demonstration of principles, for Reiki Level III and Reiki Master Teacher Certification. In this class you will cover a variety of advanced techniques including Aura Clearing, Master/Teacher symbol attunements and instruction, and further your knowledge of cutting cords, crystal grids, and more.
April 7:
National Theatre Live at Yavapai College: “The Beaus’ Stratagem” – The “Beaus”: Mr. Aimwell and Mr. Archer, two charming, dissolute young men who have blown their fortunes in giddy London. Shamed and debt-ridden, they flee to province Litchfield. The “Strategem”: to marry for money! But their greatest obstacle is love. When the Beaux meet their match in Dorinda and Mrs. Sullen, they are most at risk, for in love they might be truly discovered. Satellite broadcast from London’s National Theatre.
Esteban Debuts His 2016 Spring Show – Esteban, the man in black on the Spanish guitar, comes back to perform in the red rocks of Sedona. He is the only classical Spanish guitarist with 8 #1 Billboard albums. Dinner & show tickets are available.
April 10:
Experience the assortment of choral sounds of Yavapai College Music Department. This concert features Women’s Chorale, Community Chorale, Renaissance Singers and Chamber Choir. This concert will highlight music from M-G-M, Broadway and much more. Arlene Hardy, Wayne Wright, Scott Neese and Dr. Judith Burns, conductors.
Verde Master Chorale Concert – The Yavapai College Master Chorale presents a Spring Concert. A variety of choral music from the 17th c. to the 21st. c. Including music of George Frederic Handel, an American spiritual, a Hungarian Folksong and music of Norwegian composer, Ola Gjeilo.
Darius Lux Trio Brings Soulful Pop – This new ensemble of three outstanding artists comes together to create some of the best soulful blues/pop/rock music to grace the stage at Sound Bites Grill! Darius Lux is an innovative songwriter who combines the power of 1960’s lyric with 1990’s pop and soul–make you think lyrics combined with upbeat tempos!
From Capella to Piazza Concert – Music of the Italian Renaissance, both sacred and secular, will be presented in this performance by the Renaissance Singers of Yavapai College. From Palestrina’s Missa Brevis to the madrigals of Arcadelt and de Rore, an intriguing mix of known and not-so-well known works make up this fascinating program. There’s more to 16th century Italian art than Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
April 28:
Crystal Healing Power Program / Class – The Crystal Healing Power program is designed to share and demonstrate necessary knowledge for individuals with a desire to become an effective crystal healing practitioner. This is an experiential class and will also incorporate some time connecting with the land in beautiful, Sedona, AZ. This course includes a Vortex Hike to charge crystals in a Vortex site, a Bag of Chakra Healing Crystals, 3 days of learning,& a Certificate of completion!
Graffiti Gold 1950s & 60s Rock ‘n Roll Show – Come to the Sedona Sock Hop at Sound Bites Grill! Tom Tayback and the Daddy-O’s bring their fabulous Graffiti Gold 1950’s & 60’s Rock ‘n Roll Show to the Celebrity Lounge stage. Get ready for a night of listening to classic rock from Elvis to Richie Valens, Little Richard to Buddy Holly. Hey Little Suzie! Let’s go dancing at Sound Bites Grill this Saturday night! Be there or be square!
